Amaravati, the people’s capital, has made its way to the Guinness Book of World Records for an exceptional feat.
Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrbabu Naidu’s “My Brick My Amaravati’ campaign to global arena had fetched a tremendous reaction and response, collecting record number of unique donors ever towards building a new capital. The attempt was initially targeted at attracting online donations through maximum number ofpeople for a cause within 24 hours.
AP Govt achieved the feat on Tuesday (November 10th) by registering donations by 1,43,740 individuals who purchased e-bricks from across Andhra Pradesh and the world.
This way, AP has broken the earlier record of 1,05,800 online buying by individuals in 24 hours that was set for a cause by a Chinese NGO.
There was this constant fear of websites may crashing due to unexpected heavy traffic, the payment gateway may stop to function. But finally, we made it and informed the Chief Minister that we have a splendid Diwali gift for him,” confirmed the officials.
People have been actively coming forward to donate the bricks and the momentum is still on. In this way we can easily state our Amaravati as the People’s capital.
